Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Candor website and services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for safeguarding your login credentials.

2. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Service to harass, defame, or unlawfully target any person.
  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
  • Do not use the Service in violation of applicable export controls or sanctions.

3. Research briefs — nature of the content

Candor compiles publicly available information into research briefs for informational purposes only. Briefs are notlegal, financial, investigative, or professional advice, and are not a recommendation to accept, decline, or engage any donor, partner, or counterparty. You are responsible for independently verifying findings before acting on them.

4. Fees

Certain features are paid. Prices and included features are shown at purchase. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and Candor-generated synthesis, is owned by Candor or its licensors. You retain rights to inputs you provide; you grant us a limited license to process them solely to deliver the Service.

6. Third-party content & sources

Briefs reference third-party sources whose content belongs to their respective owners. Following links takes you to sites governed by their own terms and policies.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CANDOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your Account page. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or applicable law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Candor is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Consumer protections available to you under the mandatory law of your country of residence are unaffected.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the Service or by email. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
